Ragazzi's first CD, Good
News! 10 Years of Ragazzi Singing, is still available.
 Ragazzi
toured internationally on three occasions prior to making this recording: Canada (1990),
Russia (1992), and Eastern Europe (1995).
This international exposure is revealed in many
of the pieces recorded here, some of which were taught to the chorus by foreign choirs.
The standard classical repertory is reflected in the first seven tracks, while the middle
section reveals the high level of performance demanded of soloists and the continuing
interest in the chorus demonstrated by the alumni.
These live recordings, from concerts given in the
1995 and 1996 seasons, capture the excitement of a Ragazzi performance.
Since these recordings are all taken from actual
concerts, occasional infelicities (a book dropping, applause interrupting
the beginning and end of a selection, etc.), are to be heard on some
tracks. Rather than spoiling the appreciation of the boys' singing, these
are reminders that music is a communicative art, requiring a listener for
its full enjoyment.
