Overnight camp

Please note: during fall 2021, we are continuing to utilize our groundbreaking Ragazzi Virtual Studio (RVS) system to rehearse online in real time from the safety of our homes while also working toward safe in-person rehearsals for vaccinated boys. We are also offering safe, non-singing in-person activities for choristers who have yet to be vaccinated. Once a vaccine is widely available to our choristers, we plan to return to our regular in-person rehearsals.

Camp is an integral part of Ragazzi’s instructional program. Boys who have spent at least a semester with Ragazzi are eligible to attend our exclusive sleep-away camp. Boys spend their days immersed in Ragazzi’s unique culture, learning music and enjoying daily recreation on a wine country school campus.

Camp length depends on a boy’s group level placement in the next new performance season. Boys continuing at the beginning level (Primary) have the option of attending a short version of camp that includes day camp in Redwood City plus two nights at our main camp location with the older boys. All boys who have achieved the intermediate level (Premiere) and above are required to attend camp each summer. Upper level boys (Avanti, Concert Group, Choral Scholars) spend 10 days at camp, while Premiere and the Young Men’s Ensemble spend 7 days. All campers prepare for the upcoming performance season with intensive music learning, vocal instruction, movement and performance classes, and theory work while enjoying a wide selection of recreational activities. They receive instruction from Ragazzi faculty, joined by renowned vocal and dance clinicians. Choristers are supervised and cared for in a nurturing and structured environment by experienced counselors and staff, many of whom are Ragazzi alumni.
