Overnight camp

Please note: during our 2020-2021 season, we are rehearsing and performing remotely. References to and descriptions of in-person rehearsals and performances are representative of seasons unaffected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Camp is an integral part of Ragazzi’s instructional program. Boys who have spent at least a semester with Ragazzi are eligible to attend our exclusive sleep-away camp. Boys spend their days immersed in Ragazzi’s unique culture, learning music and enjoying daily recreation on a wine country school campus.

Camp length depends on a boy’s group level placement in the next new performance season. Boys continuing at the beginning level (Primary) have the option of attending a short version of camp that includes day camp in Redwood City plus two nights at our main camp location with the older boys. All boys who have achieved the intermediate level (Premiere) and above are required to attend camp each summer. Upper level boys (Avanti, Concert Group and Choral Scholars singers) spend 10 days, while Premiere intermediate-level boys and YME high schoolers spend 7 days. All campers prepare for the upcoming performance season with intensive music learning, vocal instruction, movement and performance classes, theory work while enjoying a wide selection of recreational activities. They receive instruction from Ragazzi faculty, joined by renowned vocal and dance clinicians. Choristers are supervised and cared for in a nurturing and structured environment by experienced counselors and staff, many of whom are Ragazzi alumni.
