Health & Safety

Dear Families,

I hope this email finds you and your family safe and well. Thank you for your patience during Ragazzi’s delayed start to the spring semester.

In consultation with Joffe Emergency Services and following San Mateo County and California Department of Public Health guidelines, Ragazzi’s in-person rehearsals and classes will begin on Tuesday, 18 for Primary (PG) and Premiere (RP), Wednesday, January 19 for Avanti (AV), Concert Group (CG), Choral Scholars (CS), and Young Men’s Ensemble (YME), and Monday, January 24 for Music & Movement (M&M).

COVID-19 mitigation strategies we are utilizing include:

  • Full vaccination for all choristers, students, faculty, and staff
  • Masking whether inside or outside during Ragazzi activities
  • Air filters in small and mid-sized rehearsal spaces
  • Open window or door to the outside
  • Fan to circulate air
  • Providing hand sanitizer in each rehearsal space and classroom

To support our COVID-19 risk mitigation efforts, choristers should:

  • wear a surgical, N95, KN95, or KF94 mask (no cloth masks, please)
  • alert the Ragazzi office if they test positive
  • stay home with COVID-19 symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test
  • follow isolation and quarantine guidelines
If circumstances dictate that rehearsals need to temporarily return to remote learning:

  • AV, CG, and YME will use the Ragazzi Virtual Studio and ZOOM.
  • M&M, PG, and RP will use ZOOM.

For more about our health and safety plan, please visit our website: https://ragazzi.org/health-safety/.

We understand that families have different comfort levels with attending rehearsals. To accommodate as many choristers as possible in our spring semester, we will offer a flexible health/safety attendance policy through February, 18, 2022. Choristers may opt out of rehearsals and classes during this time due to health and safety concerns without drawing down the number of absences allowed during the semester. Please inform your director and the Ragazzi office (ragoff@ragazzi.org) if you plan to utilize this option or will not be joining us for the spring semester.

We continue to diligently monitor the evolving situation and are ready to adjust our programming as needed. Thank you for your continued support to keep our boys singing!

Kent Jue, Artistic and Executive Director
