Wintersong at Old First Church

Rag-HldyBnr2014Leave your shopping lists behind and take a few minutes to celebrate the holidays with the soaring voices of Ragazzi Boys Chorus.  Our renowned choral training and performing organization will present Wintersong, a December homage to the season.  Spanning the ages from centuries past to just last year, from sparkling upbeat tunes, to rich, complex compositions and familiar carols, this concert will be a festive treat for the whole family. Wintersong will feature classics of choral literature, including works by John Rutter and Harold Darke.  The chorus will perform Edward Elgar’s The Snow, with string accompaniment, and the powerful Norwegian tune Eatnemen Vuelie, heard in the popular movie Frozen.  Our Young Men’s Ensemble will sing Biebl’s popular, enchanting Ave Maria and you’ll be transported to a different time and place by the unearthly Allegri Miserere.  Finally, reconnect to ancient tradition by joining the chorus in singing favorite winter carols.
